Despicable Me 3 begins with Gru and his wife Lucy chasing the villain Baltar Bratt who turned evil after his show as a child star in the 80s was canceled. He stole the World's largest diamond, and even though the diamond was recovered, Bratt escaped.

The new boss of the Anti-Villain league fired Gru and Lucy because they failed to catch him. The Minions were hopeful that perhaps after being fired, Gru would go back to a life of crime, and though Gru didn't know what to do, he knew that wasn't an option. But when Gru found out he had a twin brother, Dru, he and his family went to meet him. They found him living in a huge mansion and working with pigs so they thought. The twins’ dad was a criminal who recently passed, and Dru wanted to be like their father and wanted Gru's help. They decide to do one heist together which is to steal the largest diamond back from Bratt who recently managed to steal it again. Dru didn't have the skill as a villain but was determined to follow in their dad's footsteps. Gru however had other ideas in mind for their mission.
Despicable Me 3 doesn't quite live up to the first movie, but it is still a fun movie to see with the whole family. We already have gotten to know and love the characters so its great seeing them back on stage. And, of course, the Minions are up to their mischief again though they weren't in this movie as much as the first two. Bratt was a very unique bad guy as he was obsessed with everything 80s and used scenes from his childhood show and tried to make them reality. The giant robot of Bratt was a bit overdone though. They did however portray life in the 80s very well through Bratt's character. The side story of Agnes searching for a unicorn was cute. “Despicable Me 3” was a fun story, and I hope to see another movie in their future.
